Daína Chaviano (Author)

This article was published in the Cuban magazine "In July as in January", in the distant year of 1987, long before the global fever caused by the film saga. In this paper, Chaviano established her own linguistic and socio-political interpretation of the J. R. R. Tolkien trilogy. This text led Gente Nueva (the main Cuban publishing house for young adult literature) into publishing the first Cuban edition of The Hobbit, whose prologue was commissioned to the author.
