Ediciones Norma has just released
Amoroso planeta in Colombia. This short story collection, first published in Cuba in 1983, was the second book by Daína Chaviano. While the rest of her titles published on the island had already several editions abroad,
Amoroso planet was the only one that had not been published in another country yet.
Amoroso planeta gathers science fiction stories that revolve around the theme of love. This Colombian edition - aimed to young adult readers - includes eleven stories (of the original twelve) of the Cuban edition, preceded by a prologue by the author.
According to the back cover note, "In Amoroso planet, Daína Chaviano takes science fiction to the field of myth and metaphor, taking the reader in pursuit of worlds that move away from technology to enter the universe of the legendary. There, hiding and venturing at the same time, love becomes a mysterious impulse that starts the wheel of these stories. In all of them, visions of the past and the future come together to seek their justification in the most universal of human feelings. "
This edition includes illustrations by Colombia artist Cristhian Contreras.
