Huso, a Madrid-based publisher house, announced a new edition of
Fábulas de una abuela extraterrestre, the first science fiction novel written by Daína Chaviano, that has been out of print for many years. Its Spanish edition c
oincided with the 30th anniversary of its first edition in Cuba (1988).
Winner of the Anna Seghers Award (Berlin Academy of Arts, Germany, 1990), this is one of the most acclaimed works by this writer, and has been the subject of dozens of academic papers, essays, and doctoral thesis. Its plot gathers elements of different genres - fantasy, science fiction, and realism - represented by the three worlds where the story takes place.
This edition was introduced at HispaCon 2018 - the annual Spaniard Conference for Fantasy, Science Fiction, and Terror - held at Salamanca on November 2018.
